Towards Energy Self-consumption and Self-sufficiency in Urban Energy Communities
نویسندگان
چکیده
In Europe, 70% of citizens live in urban areas and consume around 75% the primary energy supply. order to reduce impact consumption improve competitiveness local systems, Energy Communities may help address challenges sustainability security through production self-consumption. Solar, biomass wind are main sources renewable that generally used cities. However, not all available environment usable, due limited availability, or other technical non-technical limits constraints. promote technologies buildings it is necessary consider architectural, cultural, energy, economic feasibility. This work defines a methodology for optimal design grid connected PV-battery systems environments. The model was applied two districts located city Turin with aim evaluating feasibility combining multiple residential users at level. purpose this self-consumption self-sufficiency from network, using integration solar electrical losses favor both single user distribution system. Results show different values can be reached depending on shape dimension each building. It shown possible satisfy current requirements become an Community good levels self-sufficiency.

Altruism, self-interest, and energy consumption.
How can we encourage greater energy efficiency? Estimates that take account of behavioral plasticity—the ease with which actions can be taken—indicate that the United States could reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions by 7% if households adopted simple and money-saving efficiency actions (1). However, most households are not taking these actions despite the benefits for the environment and fo...
متن کاملClimate and Energy in Urban Areas to Reduce Energy Consumption, Case Study of Saadat Abad Building
Before the modern era, cities were built on a scale that did not change the environmental balance significantly. With the expansion of population and the expansion of cities and the conversion of settlements into big cities and metropolises, new conditions have emerged which show that cities today make their own climates. The new climates created in these areas are completely different from the...
متن کاملEnergy consumption and urban texture
This paper explores the effects of urban texture on building energy consumption. It is based on the analysis of digital elevation models (DEMs)—raster models of cities which have proven to be very effective in the urban context. Different algorithms are proposed and discussed, including the calculation of the urban surface-to-volume ratio and the identification of all building areas that are wi...
